YCD EATS

Courier Agreement

How independent couriers work with YCD Eats, in plain words.

This is the plain-language version. The full legal text is being finalized with our lawyers; where the two differ, the signed full text applies.

You're independent

You are an independent contractor, not an employee of You Can Do Inc.. You choose when and where to work, and you can decline any offer. If three offers in a row expire without an answer, offers pause for 10 minutes so customers' food doesn't wait.

Shifts are optional

You can book shifts to get priority in a busy area. If you miss 3 booked shifts in a month, you lose area priority for 7 days.

What you need

You must be 18 or older. You upload the front and back of your driver's license (for a scooter or car) or state ID (for a bike), a selfie, proof of auto insurance if you drive a car, and a US bank account for payouts. You also go through a background check.

Background check

A consumer reporting agency runs the check, and only after we give you a separate written disclosure and you authorize it in writing, as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires. If something in the report might lead us to turn you down, we first send you a pre-adverse action notice with a copy of the report and a summary of your rights. You can then dispute anything that's wrong before we decide.

Your pay

Each delivery pays $3.00, plus $0.75 per mile, plus $0.30 per minute of waiting at the restaurant after the first 5 minutes. At busy times, an area can add a bonus. We keep a 4% platform fee from delivery pay and bonuses, never from tips: 100% of every tip is yours.

For example, a 3-mile delivery with no wait pays $5.25. After the 4% fee, you get $5.04, plus any tip.

Minimum pay laws

Where a city or state sets minimum pay for app-based delivery workers, such as New York City, Seattle or California, we pay at least that minimum.

Payouts

Weekly payouts to your bank account are free. Instant cash-out costs $0.99.

Taxes, vehicle and insurance

As a contractor, you're responsible for your own taxes, vehicle and insurance. We send you the IRS tax forms required, such as Form 1099, once your earnings reach the reporting threshold.

On the road

Follow traffic laws and handle food with care; an insulated bag keeps it hot and fresh.

Deactivation and appeals

We deactivate an account only for clear reasons: safety, fraud or repeated serious complaints. We tell you why, and you can appeal by writing to support@eatsycd.com.

If you want to stop

You can stop delivering and close your account at any time. Money you've earned is paid in the next payout.
